Again, the WKPF was a fantastic event. A totally different experience this time, visiting our future place of residence. My wife Thirza accompanied me for the first time to the WKPF and luckily there was also plenty of singing during the week to keep her satisfied :-)

On my way from Belfast to Armagh (Thirza was already on her way to Dublin for the weekend to visit her friend Margreth) I stopped by in Annaclone, near Banbridge, to visit pipemaker Martin Preshaw.

Martin, besides showing great hospitality, demonstrated and explained very patiently what it takes to make a chanter. I was especially impressed by the gun drills, using air pressure to prevent the drill from drifting away from its course.

On the Saturday night there was a splendid show by a CCE branch, don't recall which one, but I do recall the name Joe Monaghan. Especially the groups step dancing was very uplifting.

The Clock... A beautiful piece of craftsmanship by William Kennedy, who we know as "the blind pipemaker". The clock was kindly given on loan to be displayed during the week by the gentleman on the right.

Last year the set was displayed behind glass only, but now... I could even touch it. One of the most beautiful sets of pipes I've ever seen. Here's Brian showing the construction of the hollow main stock.
